The Ministry of Health confirmed Saturday that the health sector is working on building hospitals to cater to the health needs of citizens and residents in different governorates across the Kingdom.

In a press statement, the ministry said that the health sector has plans to build new hospitals in different parts of Jordan, half of which will be built by the ministry, to increase the number of beds to 2,000.

The statement pointed out that the ministry successfully achieved the goal of having hospitals in all governorates, after inaugurating one in Tafilah and a children's hospitals in Aqaba.

The Ministry also worked on improving hospitals and raising their efficiency to be able to provide advanced health services and specialized surgeries.

This was successfully implemented in Karak, Salt and Zarqa, and work is underway to do the same in more hospitals across the Kingdom, the statement noted.

The ministry has also worked on cooperation with the Royal Medical Services, universities, the private sector and civil society institutions in order to develop better health insurance packages and work on legislation related to organizing work and facilitating health services.

Among the projects mentioned was establishing a virtual hospital ,in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Leadership, that provides healthcare services using modern technology and virtual healthcare technology.
