Supermodel Gigi Hadid, 28, and her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy were arrested in the Cayman Islands after customs officials allegedly found "ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja" in their luggage earlier this month.

They were taken into custody on suspicion of Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils for the consumption of ganja.

Both Hadid and McCarthy were later released on bail and appeared in Summary Court on July 12, where they pleaded guilty.

Each was fined $1,000, and no conviction was recorded.

Hadid's representative stated that she was traveling with marijuana legally purchased in NYC with a medical license, and it has been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear, and she continued to enjoy her time on the island.
