The Department of Building Inspection in the city of San Francisco took down Twitter’s new logo, X, which was installed on the company’s rooftop after receiving 24 complaints.

Following the complaints, the illuminated logo was taken down from the high-rise headquarters in San Francisco.

Elon Musk, the head of the company, commented on the matter, expressing fondness for San Francisco and declaring continued support, saying, "Beautiful San Francisco, though others forsake you, we will always be your friend."

A spokesperson from the city's Building Inspection Department stated that the property owner will face fees for installing an unpermitted illuminated logo.
