In a successful operation, the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND)apprehended 10 drug dealers across different locations in Amman, Irbid, Balqa and Rusaifa.

Among the arrested was a highly sought-after suspect associated with international drug smuggling gangs.

During the raids, the authorities seized a substantial amount of illegal substances, including 287 slabs of hashish and 17,000 narcotic pills.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) stated that the AND continues its relentless pursuit of drug-related activities. Over the past few days, they have handled seven specific cases in various regions.

One of the most significant breakthroughs came after an extended intelligence effort to track down a dangerous wanted individual linked to international drug smuggling. After pinpointing his location in Irbid, he was successfully apprehended. Further investigations led to the discovery of an apartment used by others to store drugs, where 287 slabs of hashish and 17,000 narcotic pills were confiscated. The search for the accomplices involved is ongoing.

In Amman, four cases were addressed. The notable arrest of a major dealer and distributor to promoters in the eastern part of the capital resulted in the capture of three promoters buying drugs from him. Additionally, 10,000 narcotic pills were found during a search. In another case, a drug dealer resisted arrest and fired shots at the security forces, but was ultimately subdued with minimal injuries and the firearm used was seized. Inside the dealer's residence, 28 pots containing marijuana seedlings, narcotic pills, and crystal meth were found.

Two other cases in the capital involved the arrest of two dealers. One was found with seven slabs of hashish and 2,000 narcotic pills, while the other's residence yielded 11 slabs of hashish, 120 grams of crystal meth, about 2,000 narcotic pills, and a firearm.

In Rusaifa, another dealer was caught with seven slabs of hashish, 1,000 narcotic pills, and a firearm during a raid on his house. Lastly, in West Balqa, a drug dealer was arrested after resisting arrest, and a quantity of marijuana seedlings and an automatic firearm were confiscated from his residence.

The Anti-Narcotics Department's successful operation reflects its unwavering commitment to combating drug-related crimes and maintaining public safety.
