Starting Wednesday, the Central Bank of Jordan announced the commencement of the circulation of the fifth issue of the JD 5 denomination, featuring the portrait of the late His Majesty King Abdullah I.

In a statement, the Central Bank clarified that the inclusion of the fifth issue in circulation is in accordance with Jordanian Banknotes Issuance System No. (55) of 2022, which was officially published in the Official Gazette on Oct. 2, 2022.

The Central Bank emphasized that both the fifth issue and the fourth issue of the five-dinar denomination will circulate simultaneously.

Reiterating its commitment to enhancing the security features of the currency, the Central Bank stated that the new JD 5 banknote incorporates the latest security measures adopted worldwide in the field of currency production.

Additionally, the banknotes' quality has been improved to ensure their durability over an extended period.

With this, the Central Bank has now successfully introduced all denominations of the fifth issue into circulation.
