In a daring operation, the firefighting and rescue team of the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) successfully saved three children trapped within their blazing home in Madaba.

However, one firefighter sustained injuries while selflessly providing his oxygen mask to aid a child's rescue.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate's (PSD) media division reported that Tuesday morning, a distress call was received regarding a residential apartment engulfed in flames in Madaba.

The fire and rescue units swiftly responded, arriving at the scene within six minutes to commence firefighting efforts.

The spokesperson explained that during their firefighting efforts, the CDD personnel uncovered the presence of three children still inside the apartment.

The firefighters and rescuers promptly entered the premises, evacuating the children with minimal injuries, primarily experiencing respiratory distress.

The children were subsequently transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The spokesperson further revealed that one of the firefighters encountered respiratory difficulties after generously offering his oxygen mask to one of the trapped children who struggled to breathe due to the smoke and fumes emitted by the fire.

This firefighter was also taken to the hospital, where he is reported to be in stable health condition.

Following the incident, the fire was successfully extinguished, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the blaze.
