The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) manning a checkpoint in occupied Jerusalem shot a young Palestinian Monday morning, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The young man was transported to receive medical treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after.

Reports said the IOF soldiers claimed that the young man attempted to stab one of the IOF soldiers, when he was shot and “neutralized”.

Notably, none of the IOF soldiers were injured.

An IOF army spokesman later confirmed that the young man, who was not identified, was injured and taken to hospital.

He claimed that the young man raised the suspicion of the IOF soldiers when he arrived at the checkpoint and was stopped to be checked.

The IOF claims that he pulled out a knife prompting the soldiers to shoot him.
