Qatar seeks to negotiate an agreement between Hamas and Tel Aviv to release around 50 captives in Gaza in exchange for a three-day ceasefire, according to Reuters.

Under the potential agreement, Tel Aviv would release some women and children from its prisons and allow humanitarian aid from various countries to enter Gaza.

While Hamas has reportedly agreed to the details, Tel Aviv has not yet accepted and is still negotiating.

The spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, had previously stated that Tel Aviv requested the release of 100 women and children in Gaza through Qatari mediation.

The Qassam Brigades informed Qatar that it could release 50 women and children in Gaza, potentially reaching 70 during a 5-day ceasefire, in exchange for the release of 200 Palestinian children and 75 women.
