The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) issued an apology Wednesday for broadcasting a "false report" about the Israeli Occupation targeting of medics and Arabic speakers in a Gaza hospital.

The BBC apologized for a previous report on the “targeting people including medical teams as well as Arab speakers” during the Israeli Occupation army's airstrike on Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

The BBC aired a clarification, stating that the error was "below our usual editorial standards" and attributed the mistake to a misquotation of a report from the Reuters news agency.

They continued saying: “What we should have said is that IDF forces included medical staff and Arabic speakers for this operation.”

The Board of Deputies of British Jews stated that they are "absolutely appalled" over this mistake, saying: "At best this shows a staggering lack of care when reporting on a highly volatile situation, which can have a knock-on effect all over the world, including in Britain, where antisemitic attacks have risen by more than 500 percent since Oct. 7."
