The European Union has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and urged for increased opportunities to deliver aid to civilians in Gaza, according to High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell.

Borrell added that the war on Gaza was a result of a general political failure of the international community. He emphasized that the conflict in Gaza has reaffirmed to the EU that the Palestinian issue cannot be left without a resolution.

With the rising death toll from the Israeli Occupation's aggression reaching 11,500, including over 4,000 children, Borrell stressed that Tel Aviv must respect international humanitarian law.
