Haaretz, the Hebrew newspaper, verified that the vessel seized by the Houthis is affiliated with a company belonging to Tel Aviv businessman Rami Unger.

Earlier, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) condemned the hijacking of the "Israeli Ship Galaxy Leader" by the Houthis south of the Red Sea, calling it a "grave incident" and of "global consequences."

The ship's seizure was confirmed by Houthi leader, stating that "Our forces seized an occupation ship and led it to the shores of Yemen."

The IOF denied it was an "Israeli ship," further adding that the ship left Turkey on its way to India, with civilians of different nationalities onboard, and no "Israelis" on board.

The ship that is partially owned by an "Israeli company," officials told Axios.

Houthi spokesperson stated earlier on Sunday that the group will target any "Israeli Ships" owned or operated by "Israeli companies."
