Hamas Political Bureau member, Izzat al-Rishq, has dismissed reports of reaching a prisoner exchange deal with the Israeli Occupation Monday.

In a brief statement Monday morning, Rishq stated: "There is no truth to what has been mentioned by some media outlets, attributed to sources within Hamas, regarding reaching an exchange deal starting today."

According to Roya's correspondent, there are rumors that the Israeli Occupation will announce a temporary ceasefire Monday, covering areas in Gaza City, southern Gaza, and the central governorate, excluding the north.

Rishq added that, according to circulating reports, the Israeli Occupation will be the one to declare this, emphasizing that the ceasefire will be conditional on the occupation's commitment.

He noted the existence of a deal discussing the exchange of 50 captives for 50 children and women in Israeli Occupation prisons.

Rishq explained that there was a clear withdrawal from the city of Gaza and the Rimal neighborhood by the Israeli Occupation Forces in preparation for the ceasefire.

He concluded by stating that the ceasefire is expected to be contingent on the discussions that will take place.
