His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah has personally supervised the delivery of a second field hospital to war-torn Gaza, to join Jordan’s first hospital, established in central Gaza in 2009.

The field hospital will be built in the city of Khan Yunis, southwest of the Gaza Strip, a city to which thousands of Gazans were forcibly displaced.

With this operation, the Jordanian Royal Medical Services (RMS) doubled its medical aid and capacity in Gaza; the hospital will staff 180 doctors and nurses - a similar capacity to the first field hospital.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) bombing resulted in 25 hospitals out of service out of Gaza's 35 so far.

In a previous incident on Nov. 15, seven staff members of the Jordanian field hospital, stationed in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City, were slightly injured at the entrance of the emergency department while attempting to treat Palestinians injured in the bombing of a nearby mosque.

Jordan had sent earlier Friday a field hospital to the city of Nablus in the West Bank to support the overwhelmed health sector of the Palestinian Authority, where over 210 Palestinians were martyred and 2800 injured by the IOF.

Nablus' recent field hospital consists of seven trailers that include two operating rooms, two intensive care rooms, and fifteen beds.

It also includes a laboratory, a pharmacy, a radiology department, a dental clinic and a sterilization room.

The RMS will erect a tent next to the hospital to serve as an emergency room, in addition to other tents to accept patients.

Jordan previously sent six relief planes to the Gaza Strip via El Arish International Airport in Sinai, in addition to providing urgent medical and relief aid to the Palestinian Authority.

Continuous and sustained aid by Jordan comes in light of the Gaza Strip currently being subjected to continuous Israeli Occupation bombing for 45 days, resulting in the death of 12,500 people and the wounding of nearly 32,500 others.
