'Israeli army' Brigadier General, Major killed in Gaza battles

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced the death of two officers in ground battles in the Gaza Strip.

The IOF said in a statement Thursday that Major (Reserve) Gal Meir Eizenkot, 25 years old, from Hertzliya, a fighter in the 699th Battalion "Hafti Hash," was killed in a battle in northern Gaza.

Gal Ezeinkont is the son of Gadi Eisenkot, a member of the War Cabinet and former Chief of Staff.

Brigadier General (Reserve) Jonathan David Deitch, 34 years old, from Moshav, a fighter in the 6623rd Battalion Patrol (55), was also killed in a battle in southern Gaza.

The number of casualties from the IOF, including soldiers and officers, has risen to 416 since October 7.
