After more than 60 days of aggression on Gaza, resulting in over 17,000 Palestinian deaths and the complete destruction of Gaza neighborhoods, the US remains committed to its ally's objective of dismantling Hamas.

However, there the two expressed differing visions for the post-war period, especially regarding who gets to take control of the Strip.

The US proposes a plan that involves the Palestinian Authority, governing parts of the West Bank, returning to Gaza with American assistance.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, in an interview with Bloomberg, indicated that the Palestinian Authority, with US support, aims to re-establish control in Gaza.

He added that a 'changed Hamas' could be seen as a potential partner.

The Israeli Occupation, on the other hand, disagrees on these fronts and is stubborn regarding its goal to eradicate Hamas.

It perceives the Palestinian Authority as weak and too similar to resistance groups regarding the Occupation's legitimacy.
