British Secretary of State for Defense Grant Shapps stated that his country intends to spend USD 31 billion for the production of modern submarines, adding that the deployment of their forces within NATO is the largest in 40 years.

He indicated that Britain took measures last week to defend itself against Houthi attacks, stating that 90 percent of maritime trade has become a target.

He further mentioned that his country will allocate GBP 200 million for the production of modern drones, considering the increasing nuclear threat worldwide necessitates ensuring possession of deterrent capabilities against this threat.

He added that Britain intends to deploy 20,000 of its forces to reinforce NATO forces in various regions around the world.
