A delegation from Hamas visited the Russian Foreign Ministry headquarters Friday, an official statement said. The delegation was led by Moussa Abu Marzouk, Head of the International Relations Office Hamas, and met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Envoy to the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov.

Russia emphasized the need to release the captives held in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, including three Russian citizens - A. Kozlov, A. Lobanov and A. Trufanov.

The talks discussed ways to achieve a ceasefire that would end the Israeli Occupation’s aggression against Gaza.

Bogdanov expressed his country's support for the rights of the Palestinian people and Russia's efforts, in collaboration with relevant parties, to achieve a ceasefire.

The delegation also included Dr. Basem Naim, a member of the Hamas Politburo in Gaza, and the movement's representative in Moscow.
