The Indian Navy managed on Monday to free an Iranian fishing vessel that had been hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean, according to a spokesperson for the Indian Navy.

The spokesperson stated, "Pirates boarded the fishing vessel and took the crew members hostage."

All 17 crew members aboard the vessel named "Iman," flying the Iranian flag, were freed after the intervention of the Indian warship.
