Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani affirmed Qatar's commitment to supporting UNRWA.

In a meeting with Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), on Monday, Al Thani emphasized Qatar's dedication to ensuring the sustained and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman conveyed Qatar's gratitude for UNRWA's crucial role in providing assistance to millions of Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

He cautioned against the potential catastrophic consequences of halting funding to the agency, emphasizing the need to separate the institution's international standing, built on solid values and traditions, from allegations affecting certain employees currently under investigation.

Lazzarini expressed UNRWA's gratitude to Qatar for its consistent and generous support, highlighting its significant contribution to addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian population.
