His Majesty King Abdullah II attended, at Raghadan Palace, the ceremony of raising the "Silver Jubilee" flag.

The raising of the flag marks the 25th anniversary of His Majesty assuming his constitutional powers, which falls on the 7th of February, initiating the national celebrations of the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty's accession to the throne, which falls on the 9th of June.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty the King, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, to the courtyard of Raghadan Palace, he was received by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and a number of Their Royal Highnesses, princes, and princesses.

The royal anthem was played, the honor guard saluted his majesty according to Royal protocols.

The flag-raising ceremony began with His Majesty receiving the Silver Jubilee flag from the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, Yousef Hassan Al Issawi. His Majesty then handed it over to an officer of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army to advance towards the pole for hoisting. He was surrounded by the Silent Platoon from the Royal Ceremonial Unit, while the flag-raising music played in the background, followed by the national anthem.

The flag was established to express pride and honor in the journey of building and achievements witnessed and ongoing in the nation under His Majesty's leadership.

The flag-raising ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the Judicial Council, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Director of General Intelligence, and the Director of General Security. Senior officials of the Royal Hashemite Court also attended.

The Silver Jubilee flag, which has the same proportions and measurements as the Jordanian flag, consists of a single horizontal stripe in the dark red color, symbolizing sacrifice and derived from the Hashemite banner, with the Silver Jubilee emblem in the center.
