The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Tuesday that "France will impose sanctions on Israeli settlers who have been convicted of violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank."

"Twenty-eight Israelis will be prohibited from entering French territory," the statement added.

The UK also announced sanctions earlier on four extremist settlers who "violently attacked" Palestinians in the West Bank.

The British Foreign Ministry said in a statement that these sanctions impose financial restrictions and travel bans to combat the ongoing violence perpetrated by settlers, which threatens the stability of the West Bank.

The statement quoted Foreign Secretary David Cameron as saying, "Israel must take firmer action and put an end to settler violence."
