Maha Al-Buhu, CEO of the Jordanian Payment and Settlement Systems Company "JoPak," stated in remarks given at an economic bulletin that the company is planning to impose a commission on "CliQ" transactions in the second quarter of this year.

She added that the commission would be variable and symbolic, justifying this move due to the costs incurred by banks for providing the service throughout the week.

The "CliQ" service is most popular among youth and individuals aged between 18 to 40, with approximately 60 percent being male and 40 percent female - the number of users has reached 1.24 million with payments totaling JOD 694 million.

The trend of using financial payment systems in Jordan continues to grow, especially with the increasing popularity of "CliQ" payment services, which have seen a 5 percent rise since the beginning of 2024.
