The United States representative at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), has called on the court to not issue an advisory opinion that finds that “Israel is legally obligated to immediately and unconditionally withdraw from occupied territory.”

The United States representative, Richard Visek, added that the conflict must be resolved within the “established framework.”

“The established framework for achieving a comprehensive and enduring peace is anchored in the United Nations Security Council resolutions 242 and 338. At their core these and subsequent resolutions call for the application of two interdependent and inseparable requirements for a just and lasting peace,” said Visek.
