The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Thursday that it took defensive action by carrying out four strikes against seven mobile Houthi Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles and a single mobile Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile launcher, which were evidently poised for deployment aimed at the Red Sea.
CENTCOM stated that alongside these strikes, its forces intercepted and neutralized a one-way attack unmanned aircraft system (UAS) in an act of self-defense.
"In a recent development, US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces took defensive action by carrying out four strikes against seven mobile Houthi Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles and a single mobile Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile launcher, which were evidently poised for deployment aimed at the Red Sea. Alongside these strikes, CENTCOM forces intercepted and neutralized a one-way attack unmanned aircraft system (UAS) in an act of self-defense," CENTCOM said in a statement.
"CENTCOM forces subsequently struck and destroyed the missiles, launchers and UAS in self-defense. These actions will protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S. Navy and merchant vessels," the statement read.
