The United States Central Command (CENTCOM), announced that a US aircraft and warship shot down six Houthi One-Way Attack (OWA) drones in the Red Sea between 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM Sana’a time - per CENTCOM’s statement.

CENTCOM added, that later between 8:30 am and 9:45 am, the Yemen’s Houthis fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles from southern Yemen into the Gulf of Aden which struck a UK-owned cargo vessel “MV Islander.”

One minor injury was recorded on-board in addition to material damage, and the ship is continuing its voyage to its target destination.

CENTCOM announced earlier Thursday that it took defensive action by carrying out four strikes against seven mobile Houthi Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles and a single mobile Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile launcher, which were evidently poised for deployment aimed at the Red Sea.

Alongside these strikes, its forces intercepted and neutralized a one-way attack unmanned aircraft system (UAS) in an act of self-defense, the statement added.
