The wage unit of the Ministry of Labor settled 633 labor lawsuits during the past year, with 89 lawsuits still under consideration from last year, according to the Ministry of Labor's spokesperson, Mohammed Al-Ziyoud.

Al-Ziyoud added that the number of labor lawsuits registered with the wage unit at the ministry during the past year reached 605 cases.

Furthermore, Al-Ziyoud stated that the wage unit handled 925 labor complaints in 2023, providing advice to their owners either by initiating a lawsuit before it according to its jurisdiction or directing them to the competent reconciliation courts.

Al-Ziyoud pointed out that the unit was established under Article 54 of Labor Law No. 8 of 1996 and its amendments, and it is responsible for considering labor cases within the capital governorate.

He affirmed that the decisions of the wage unit are executed by the relevant execution departments as if they were decisions issued by regular courts, provided that the amounts ruled are not subject to installment, exempt from fees and stamps, and the claim filed by the worker to the wage authority, as well as its decisions submitted for execution, are exempted from execution departments.
