The Chief of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), Herzi Halevi, and the Director of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, assured Egypt in a meeting in Cairo last week that Tel Aviv would take measures to prevent an invasion of Rafah from leading to an influx of Palestinian refugees into Egypt, according to Axios citing two American officials briefed on the matter.

“Israeli” officials said that any future military operation in Rafah requires coordination with Egypt.

Halevi and Bar reportedly met with the head of Egyptian intelligence and senior Egyptian military officers to discuss the potential military operation in Rafah, where the two presented their ideas on how an “Israeli” operation in the area could be carried out and also prevent a mass wave of displaced Palestinians into Sinai.
