The Anti-Narcotics Department succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of one and a half million narcotic pills to a neighboring country and intercepted the smuggling of Two kilograms of methamphetamine across the Jaber Border Crossing. Additionally, three dangerous and wanted individuals were apprehended during the Department’s handling of 12 cases.

In detail, the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) stated Tuesday that the Anti-Narcotics Department dealt with 12 significant cases in various areas of Jordan over the past few days, leading to the arrest of 23 individuals involved in drug trafficking, distribution, and smuggling.

He mentioned that among these cases was the foiling of an attempt to smuggle one and a half million narcotic pills to a neighboring country inside a shipping vehicle. A special investigation team followed up on the information and managed to identify the shipping vehicle hiding the narcotic pills along with six individuals involved in the case.

Simultaneously, the suspect's vehicle was seized, and the locations of the individuals were raided, resulting in the arrest of all involved parties and the seizure of one and a half million narcotic pills hidden in secret compartments inside the shipping vehicle.

Furthermore, an attempt to smuggle two kilograms of methamphetamine at the Jaber Border Crossing was thwarted, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the confiscation of the narcotics in his possession. Another smuggling attempt involving 70,000 narcotic pills was also foiled in the same area, and the perpetrator was apprehended along with the confiscated drugs.

Moreover, an arrest campaign was carried out in Ajloun targeting drug dealers and traffickers, resulting in the arrest of six individuals, including one categorized as highly dangerous, and the seizure of quantities of narcotics in their possession.

In the capital city, Amman, four cases were addressed. The first case led to the arrest of a highly dangerous drug dealer operating in the Jabal Al-Taj area, who was found in possession of a firearm.

The second case resulted in the arrest of another dangerous individual in southern Amman, along with the confiscation of a firearm and a quantity of narcotics.

Additionally, a raid on a residential apartment used by a drug trafficker led to the arrest of him and another individual, along with the seizure of 2,500 narcotic pills, four cannabis wraps, and a firearm.

In the last case, a drug dealer's house was raided, leading to his arrest and the confiscation of five cannabis wraps and two automatic firearms.

A drug dealer in Mafraq Governorate was arrested after his house was raided, resulting in the seizure of 17,000 narcotic pills, five cannabis wraps, half a kilogram of methamphetamine, and three firearms. Another drug dealer in Mafraq Governorate was also apprehended in another case, with 10,000 narcotic pills seized in his possession.

Additionally, the Anti-Narcotics Department raided a warehouse used by an individual for storing narcotics in Aqaba Governorate, resulting in the arrest of one person and the seizure of 25,000 narcotic pills and five firearms.

In Ma'an Governorate, a drug dealer was apprehended with eight cannabis wraps in his possession.

The spokesperson for the PSD added that all cases were referred to the State Security Court prosecutor.
