Representatives of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Fatah party are reportedly set to hold talks in Moscow tomorrow, Thursday, to discuss forming a potential unified Palestinian government - per “The Times of Israel” citing Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal, and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov both confirmed to RIA Novosti that the meeting is planned.

Earlier on Monday, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh submitted his government's resignation to President Mahmoud Abbas, and was approved by Abbas afterwards.

Shtayyeh emphasized the need for new governmental and political arrangements in light of the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip, ongoing national unity talks, and the urgent necessity for Palestinian-Palestinian consensus based on national principles, broad participation, unity, and the extension of the Palestinian Authority over the entire Palestinian territory.
