The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the brutal targeting by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) of a gathering of Gaza citizens who were awaiting humanitarian aid at Nablus Square near Rashid Street in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens and the injury of hundreds.

The ministry's spokesman, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, emphasized the Kingdom's absolute condemnation and rejection of the ongoing Israeli occupation's targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip, a flagrant and blatant violation of international law and humanitarian law in the absence of an international stance to halt this war and humanitarian massacre perpetrated by “Israel” against Palestinians.

Al-Qudah also noted in the statement the Security Council's failure to take immediate action to halt the ongoing war crimes committed against Palestinians in Gaza.

He reiterated his call to the international community to provide international protection for the Palestinian brethren and to intensify efforts to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the protection of civilians and the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip.

The IOF claimed earlier that there was a “violent gathering” when humanitarian aid was being delivered which endangered “Israeli” troops.

A military source within the IOF cited by “The Times of Israel” said that their troops opened fire at the crowd of Palestinian civilians, and that the incident is currently under investigation.
