US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines has raised concerns about China's potential manipulation of the TikTok app to influence the 2024 US elections. Haines hasn't dismissed the possibility of China leveraging TikTok for election interference.

This warning from US intelligence comes after President Joe Biden recently joined TikTok to engage with young voters and garner support for his campaign.

Former President Donald Trump also highlighted TikTok's threat to national security, particularly during discussions in Congress over legislation offering ByteDance, TikTok's Chinese parent company, a six-month grace period to divest from the app.

The US House of Representatives is expected to vote on this legislation soon.
