Hebrew media sources have reported that the Golani Brigade of the Israeli Occupation army, previously stationed in the Gaza Strip, has now moved to the Lebanese border in the northern region of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Tensions have escalated along the southern Lebanese border following actions by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, which initiated Operation Aqsa Typhoon on October 7 in response to Israeli Occupation violations in Palestinian territories.

Lebanese Hezbollah confirmed launching artillery strikes Thursday morning targeting the newly established Liman Brigade headquarters in Western Galilee, north of the occupied territories. Additionally, Hezbollah targeted the Gorn and Shlomi settlements in retaliation for recent incidents, including the Naqoura and Tair Harfa attacks and assaults on medical personnel.

Hebrew media reports said that Hezbollah fired over 20 missiles from Lebanon into Western Galilee.

Last month, Israeli Occupation sources indicated that the occupation army planned to redeploy the 7th Brigade to Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, following its withdrawal from the region.

Earlier in January, the army also withdrew the 36th Division from Gaza, comprising the Golani Brigade, the 188th Brigade, the 7th Armored Brigade, an artillery unit, and the Etzioni reserve brigade.

The decision was reportedly made to reassess the combat situation and maintain force efficiency.
