Members of the Parliament approved Monday the amended draft law for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Law for the year 2024.

The draft law aims to regulate the mechanisms for buying and selling electricity generated from facilities and residences equipped with renewable energy systems for electricity generation, as well as to specify the systems, devices, and equipment for renewable energy sources.

Additionally, the law includes the conservation of energy consumption, which is exempt from customs duties and subject to a "zero" sales tax, according to a regulation issued for this purpose.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi, stated that today's legislative session is expected to be the last session in the current term of the nineteenth House of Representatives.
