Lebanese Iran-backed political and militant group Hezbollah, said Tuesday that it targeted the Western Galilee and the “Israeli” settlement Gesher HaZiv with a barrage of Katyusha rockets.

The statement added that the attack is in response to an “Israeli” airstrike that hit the Lebanese village of Yarine, which resulted in the injury of a Lebanese civilian woman.

Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” said that over 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards the Western Galilee.

Earlier on Monday, an “Israeli” airstrike that targeted the Iranian consulate killed a senior Iranian official at the Iranian consulate in Damascus - Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander in the Quds Force in Syria and Lebanon.

Since Oct. 8, 2023, the Lebanese border has been witnessing frequent skirmishes between the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and Lebanese resistance groups - fueled by the ongoing “Israeli” aggression against the Gaza Strip.
