The Attorney General confirmed that the process of releasing those covered by the 2024 General Pardon Law will commence starting tomorrow, Wednesday.

They added that a thorough review process is conducted before releasing those covered by the law.

The Minister of Government Communication said that the release of 7,355 individuals covered by the general pardon will take effect starting tomorrow, Wednesday, along with the pardon of traffic tickets.

The Public Prosecution has commenced procedures for implementing Law No. 5 of 2024 on General Pardon, which was issued by Royal Decree and came into effect upon its publication in Official Gazette No. 5919 on Tuesday.

A royal decree was issued today by His Majesty King Abdullah II approving the General Pardon Law of 2024.

Earlier, the Senate approved the General Pardon draft Law for the year 2024 as it was referred to by the House of Representatives with no amendments.

The House of Representatives approved the draft law in a single session as received from the Cabinet, without adding any amendments or expanding the scope of crimes covered by the law, despite demands from some Members of the Parliament calling for additional crimes to be included in the pardon.
