The Israeli Occupation persists in its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 185th consecutive day, targeting civilians in the besieged territory.

This blockade, in effect for 17 years, has recently led to widespread famine and even starvation among Palestinians due to limited humanitarian aid allowed by the Israeli Occupation after October 7.

Amid ongoing hostilities in Gaza, reports from Cairo suggest progress in ceasefire negotiations and a potential captive exchange between Palestinian factions and the occupation.

Haaretz, a Hebrew newspaper, cited an official in Tel Aviv revealing that the United States is poised to present a new proposal for the captive deal, demanding significant concessions from both sides. The United States' earnestness and pressure are seen as potential game-changers in the negotiation deadlock.

Hebrew Channel 13 reported similar information, quoting a Tel Aviv official on US leadership and its substantial pressure tactics in the negotiations. Meanwhile, the Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation noted increased flexibility from all parties involved in the captive talks, with US pressure influencing the situation.

A Hamas insider informed Al Jazeera, however, that the group's representatives departed Cairo today to confer with its leadership. The source noted that there hasn't been any headway in the Cairo talks, with the Israeli Occupation delegation failing to address any of Hamas' requests.

As negotiations progress, the toll of Israeli Occupation aggression on Gaza remains staggering, with the Palestinian Ministry of Health reporting 33,175 fatalities and 75,886 injuries since October 7.
