Iran's massive aerial attack on Israel was a "spectacular and embarrassing failure," the White House said Monday, and also denied Iran’s claims that they had provided an early warning of the aerial attack beforehand to help “Israel” prepare its defenses and limit any potential damages - labeling it as “categorically false.”

“This embarrassing and spectacular failure was all by design,” said John Kirby, the United States National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications in a press conference at the White House on Monday.

“There were never any messages to us or anyone else on the time frame, the targets, or the type of response,” Kirby added.

The “Israeli” army claimed Sunday that 99 percent of the Iranian airborne attack was intercepted, adding that only four missiles breached “Israeli” airspace and caused minor damage to Nevatim Airbase.

“This [Iranian] attack was defeated, thanks to our preparation and other coalition partners, and to Israel’s remarkable defensive systems,” Kirby stated, as the United States along with the United Kingdom and other states participated in intercepting a large portion of Iranian drones and Missiles fired on Sunday night.

Regarding reports by US media citing several American officials saying that an “Israeli” response to Iran is expected by Monday, Kirby said that the “Israeli” government will “make its own decision regarding if and how to respond.”
