The General Fatwa Department released a statement on Tuesday regarding the number of fatwas issued during Ramadan.

The statement said that a total of 39,035 fatwas were issued during the holy month. These fatwas covered various topics, including 2,979 related to divorce, with 736 being actual divorce rulings, and 15,419 addressing worship, financial matters, contemporary issues, and responses to atheism and homosexuality.

The department highlighted the main causes of divorce and marital disputes during Ramadan, such as anger, impatience, interference from relatives, disagreements over social events, lack of awareness of spousal rights and duties, as well as issues related to social media and spousal abuse.

It was emphasized that these statistics reflect Jordanian society's concern for religious matters, indicating that religion is a fundamental aspect of its culture, customs, and values.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized the public's trust in the General Fatwa Department and the significance of media in disseminating fatwas, stating that it plays a crucial role as a partner.
