His Majesty King Abdullah II Tuesday met with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga in Washington DC.

The meeting was attended by the King's Office Director, Jaafar Hassan, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Washington, Dina Kawar.

The meeting centered on enhancing economic and developmental cooperation between Jordan and the World Bank, highlighting Jordan's efforts in economic modernization and public sector updates.

King Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the World Bank's support of Jordan's implementation of its Economic Modernization Vision.

Hi Majesty also valued the World Bank's backing for water projects in Jordan, notably the desalination and water transfer project from Aqaba to Amman, known as The National Transport Project.

King Abdullah emphasized the importance of the World Bank's role in supporting public-private partnership projects, as well as initiatives in the transportation and energy sectors.

The meeting also covered the economic impacts of the ongoing war in Gaza on Jordan.

World Bank President Ajay Banga commended Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision and the progress made according to its timeline.
