On Friday, the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, announced that the organization would seek independent legal advice regarding the Palestinian Football Association's demand to suspend the Israeli Occupation federation due to the aggression in Gaza.

Infantino stated that FIFA will convene an extraordinary council session before July 20 to evaluate the legal findings and determine the next steps.

The Palestinian Football Association has called for the immediate suspension of Israeli Occupation's membership in FIFA. During a meeting in Bangkok, Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub urged Infantino to take decisive action against Israeli Occupation, similar to measures taken during previous conflicts.

The Israeli Occupation Football Association dismissed the Palestinian request as "cynical."

Earlier Thursday, FIFA's new Secretary-General, Matthias Grafström, announced that the organization would propose mandatory penalties for racist violations, including match forfeitures, to its General Assembly. This proposal was outlined in a letter sent to all 211 member associations.

During the 74th Congress in Bangkok, FIFA discussed the situation in Gaza at the request of the Palestinian Football Association, which seeks sanctions against the Israeli Occupation Football Association for severe human rights violations.

In January, Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein of the Jordanian and West Asian Football Association called for international action to end the Israeli Occupation's aggression in Gaza. He has been mobilizing support from Arab and international football federations to isolate Israeli Occupation and apply international standards to the situation.

The Jordanian Football Association has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause within FIFA, advocating for international backing to isolate the Israeli Occupation.
