Residents of Jenin city and camp in the occupied West Bank announced a general strike in mourning for a senior leader of the Jenin Brigade, Islam Khameisy – who was killed in an ‘Israeli’ airstrike last night.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, announced the martyrdom of the commander Islam Khameisy, one of the leaders of the Jenin Brigade.

An Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) aircraft launched an airstrike on Dmeig Street in the Jenin camp with two missiles yesterday night – per Roya’s correspondent.

The airstrike resulted in one martyr and six Palestinians injured, indicating that the targets of the airstrike were one of the founders of the Jenin Brigade and another person accused of carrying out several shooting operations.

The official Hebrew broadcasting authority claimed that the strike in Jenin aimed to target a cell planning an operation against "Israel" in the immediate future.
