Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billström held extensive discussions on Tuesday concerning developments in the Gaza Strip.

The two parties discussed efforts to achieve a ceasefire, ensure the protection of civilians, and provide sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid throughout the region.

The discussions also covered efforts to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), which plays an indispensable role in assisting Palestinian refugees.

Safadi asserted that peace can only be achieved through a two-state solution and highlighted the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) role in pursuing justice.

“Those who commit war crimes must legally face accountability and justice,” Safadi stated. He reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to delivering aid to Gaza and the West Bank, undeterred by terrorist attacks from Israeli Occupation extremists.

Furthermore, Safadi and Billström signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding political consultations between the two friendly countries.
