The Jordan Meteorological Department forecasts an increase in the impact of the Khamsin low-pressure system, with an anticipated rise in dust levels in the coming hours.

Satellite images indicate a rise in dust and sand particles in the Jordanian atmosphere during the upcoming hours, especially around noon and afternoon, due to the influx of remnants of a dust wave coming from North Africa across the Mediterranean Sea towards the Kingdom – per the department’s forecasts.

Jordan will increasingly be affected by a Khamsin low-pressure system on Monday, accompanied by rising temperatures. The weather will generally become relatively hot with scattered clouds, and hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, where maximum temperatures approach or even exceed forty degrees Celsius.

The winds will be light to moderate southeast, turning moderate southwest in the afternoon with active gusts, potentially causing dust disturbances, especially in the southern and eastern regions of the Kingdom.

The Jordan Meteorological Department advises taking appropriate preventive measures for respiratory and allergic patients and driving cautiously on desert roads due to winds and dust.
