The UN Special Rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, stated that the “Israeli” bombardment of a camp housing displaced people in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, is a blatant challenge to international law and order.

While replying to a post on X by the Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI) Mustafa Barghouti documenting the massacre by “Israel” in Rafah, Albanese stated: "More horror in the #GazaGhetto. The Israeli occupation forces have bombed a camp for displaced Palestinians in #Rafah, causing plastic tents to catch fire and tragically burning people alive. This cruelty, along with blatant defiance of the int'l law and system, is unacceptable.

“The #GazaGenocide‌ will not easily end without external pressure: Israel must face sanctions, justice, suspension of agreements, trade, partnership and investments, as well as participation in int'l forums."

Forty-five Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured last night in the massacre carried out by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

The massacre comes just two days after the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest judicial body in the UN, issued orders for the occupation to immediately cease its military operations in Rafah and to ensure the opening of the Rafah Border Crossing to enable the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
