The Pentagon announced Wednesady the suspension of aid deliveries to Gaza by sea after severe weather damaged its temporary floating dock.

Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh explained that high waves and bad weather caused part of the dock to detach on Tuesday morning. She said rebuilding and repairing the dock would take at least a week, after which it would be reconnected to Gaza’s coast.

Singh confirmed that once repairs and reconstruction were completed, the temporary dock would be reattached to Gaza’s coast, and humanitarian aid deliveries would resume.

The temporary dock had been operational for two weeks, according to a statement from the U.S. Central Command. The statement mentioned that four U.S. military ships supporting the dock "broke from their moorings" and drifted amid high waves. Two ships drifted to Gaza’s shore, while the other two were carried to the "Israeli" coast.
