The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) stated that the personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department were able, within hours, to conclude the investigation and uncover the circumstances and perpetrator of the robbery crime committed on Wednesday at a branch of one of the banks in the Marka area of the capital Amman, and to arrest him.

A report was received by the East Amman Police Directorate on Wednesday afternoon regarding the entry of an unidentified individual into a branch of one of the banks in Marka, and the theft of approximately JOD 6,000, then fleeing the scene – the statement said.

It added that upon receiving the report and gathering information from the crime scene, an investigation team was formed consisting of the Criminal Investigation Department, East Amman Police, and the Forensic Laboratory – They were later able to identify the armed robber.

The whereabouts of the suspect were determined, he was raided and arrested, and he confessed during the interrogation to planning and committing the crime using a plastic weapon, while in his possession was found most of the stolen amount – JOD 5720 dinars.
