Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad met with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier today in Tehran.

Assad offered his condolences over the “martyrdom of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian,” a statement by the Syrian Presidency said.

Assad praised the late President Raisi for prioritizing the interests of Iranian people and the high regard he holds for Syria and its people – the statement added.
