The United Kingdom has warned Lebanon that “Israel” will launch a large-scale offensive in mid-June and advised Beirut to “prepare the necessary preparations for the war” – Lebanese Al-Akhbar news outlet has reported.

Diplomats from various countries have warned Lebanese officials of an impending military operation by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the north, and said that the threats are “serious” – Al-Akhbar said.

Nabih Berri, the speaker of Lebanon’s parliament, received a phone call from US special envoy Amos Hochstein last week, where the latter reportedly told Berri that the United States intends to continue negotiations “to achieve a solution” on the “Israeli” border with Lebanon and to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.

Afterwards, talks will begin on the outstanding points between "Israel" and Lebanon – the report added.
