CIA director heads to Doha for Gaza agreement talks

CIA Director William Burns is set to arrive in Doha on Tuesday to discuss efforts to reach an agreement regarding the aggression on Gaza, according to a report by Axios.

Additionally, President Biden’s senior advisor for Middle East affairs, Brett McGurk, is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Wednesday. Both visits are seen as critical components of a comprehensive pressure campaign by the US to achieve a breakthrough in the Gaza negotiations.

Qatar announced that it presented Hamas with the new “Israeli” proposal, which aligns with the principles outlined by President Biden. Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari stated that the “Israeli” proposal includes positions that bring the two sides closer than before.
