Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned the shooting incident at the US Embassy in Lebanon, which occurred on Wednesday.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, expressed the kingdom's denunciation and condemnation of all forms of violence and terrorism, especially those targeting diplomatic buildings protected under international law and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Ambassador Al-Qudah reiterated Jordan's solidarity with the Lebanese Republic and its support in facing anything that threatens its security and stability. According to "Royaa" news, gunfire targeted the US Embassy in Awkar, Lebanon, resulting in injuries to the shooter.

Reports indicated that heavy gunfire was directed at the US Embassy in the town of Awkar, east of Beirut. "Royaa" sources confirmed that one of the embassy guards was injured, one attacker was killed, another was wounded and detained, and a search is ongoing for a third gunman.

The Lebanese army reported the detention of the shooter, who was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region and the importance of adherence to international standards for the protection of diplomatic entities.
